A New Survey Says Portland Is the Fourth Best City in the United States

According to livability.com, on the top 100 cities to live in the United States of America, Portland was number 4.

Wow we're high up on the list.

Everything in the highlights are the city's great restaurants, marvelous coffee shops, proximity to the great outdoors, and our co-working spaces.

The site also talks about how we are the right size not to be a small town but still find friends and adopted family.

"People should think about relocating to Portland for the quality of life and a strong sense of community. It's easy to make fast friends and to feel connected. Within minutes you can be at the beach, on a mountain, paddling in a river or the ocean, while not sacrificing all of those essential urban elements: great coffee, live music, and local boutiques. It's the best of everything all in one convenient place."

 

That quote came from Casey Gilbert, who is the executive director of downtown Portland. Many things said here are absolutely correct as I've been able to find the great outdoors and meet a lot of great people; that being said, one thing that is glossed over in this article is the lack of affordable housing for young professionals to move in or maybe all of the rest of the amenities of this city outweighs that as it does say the housing scores of 56.

Nonetheless, congratulations to Maine's premiere city for making a prestigious list with all of these other great cities. All of which have an excellent quality of life.
