Am I the only one cringes at the thought of a real nun singing "Like a Virigin?" I did cringe until I watched the video and now I think it actually works.

27-year-old Sister Cristina Scuccia won Italy's version of The Voice this year and got a recording contract out of it. Her first album is due out in November and it's full of cover songs including Madonna's classic "Like a Virigin."

She definitely puts a different spin on it and when you stop and listen to the lyrics, forgetting what they meant when Madonna sang it, it makes sense.

Sister Cristina told Fox News Latino "the choice of song came when I had the text in my hands and I analyzed it without considering what had happened in the past with this song. It's a bit of an allegory of God's call."

What's she going to do with the profits from her new album? Donate them to Catholic charities of course.

Here's her performance on The Voice of Italy.
