A Week of Free Events, Parades, and Fireworks at Windjammer Days Festival in Boothbay, Maine
Annual Windjammer Days Festival
There’s a reason the Windjammer Days Festival has been kicking off the summer in Boothbay Harbor for 60 years now. The anticipated event is packed full of activities and events for all ages and interests for a week long of summer fun.
Starting off on Sunday, June 26, the free week-long event will commence with live music, a yacht club sail, sunset cruise, and lobster bake, and a light show of docked boats lit up like Christmas trees followed by a lighted boat parade that will circle through the harbor.
And this is just the beginning.
As the week goes on, the festival will continue with Maine-themed events such as a crab cake cook-off, Pancake breakfasts, talent shows showcasing local performers, pirate dress-up and puppet shows, cod fish races, street parades, dock parties, fireworks over the harbor, artist markets, golf tournaments, boat parades, pier parties, history tours, a kayak poker run, and even MORE.
I could keep going and listing things but you’ll just have to check out the schedule for yourself.
The Boothbay region is a scenic and gorgeous coastal town that provides a perfect landscape to kick off our summer here in Maine. Spending time outdoors, being on the coast, and eating fresh seafood is just a small portion of what our summer is all about and this week-long free event will set things off right.
Hands-on, entertaining, and fun-filled events like this can get pretty pricey, but this free event will provide you with summer entertainment for an entire week.
It’ll kick off on Sunday, June 26, and wrap on on Saturday, July 2 just in time for your 4th of July plans.
It’s finally safe to spend time together doing things we love and this festival is just one of many ways for us to spend a quality summer in Maine together.
