ABC After School Specials Taught Me Everything I Need to Know

This special series of movies that ran during the week in the afternoon (ya know, after school) was on for 25 seasons from 1972-1997! It taught me everything I needed to know. 

I had no idea this was on for 25 years! I just remember that Kristy McNichol starred in most of the ones I caught after school.

I learned about adoption and pot and friends...you know who else starred in a couple of these specials?

My parents loved these things. They always looked in the TV Guide and would see, 'Andrea's Story: A Hitchhiking Tragedy'  and say:

I want you to watch the ABC After School Special today...it's about how never to hitchhike.

Hey...if I got to watch TV I was cool with it.
