Adam Levine Addresses Halftime Show Hate on Instagram: ‘We Thank Our Critics’
Adam Levine broke his silence following Maroon 5's controversial Super Bowl performance.
If you tuned into the big game, then you probably watched Levine take off his shirt during the event's halftime show. Though a lot of people on Twitter were thirsty over his nipples (and some weren't due to the fact the Janet Jackson was blacklisted for accidentally doing the same in 2004), that didn't stop critics from bashing the band. But according to a lengthy message posted to Instagram, Levine seemed content about their performance.
He thanked the universe for the opportunity, his fans, as well as addressed his haters/critics by thanking them for "pushing us to do better."
"When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote. Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight. We thank the universe for this historic opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stage. We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. One Love," he wrote.
