There was so much that I wanted to say to the 6500 other people I ran along side during this year's Beach 2 Beacon. But it's nearly impossible for me to talk while I'm running, so I couldn't. So I'd like to take this opportunity to say a few things to some certain people.

To The Guy Who Won (Alex Korio): How the heck did you do that? I mean really...your time was 27:34, just seven seconds shy of the course record. I can't even run a 5k in that time! How is that even possible? I salute you, sir.

To The People Who Are Sprinting At The Beginning Of The Race: Why??? If I run as fast as I can in the beginning, there's no way I'll be able to even finish. But I guess that's just me. You do you!

To The People On The Sidelines Cheering Us On: THANK YOU. You have no idea how much of a difference your support makes. I always run faster when I see people cheering us on.

To The Man We Ran Next To Somewhere Along Mile Three: It seems as though you have some sort of physical impairment, and you were running with a limp. But you didn't let that stop you, and you were crushing it just like everyone else out there. In fact, I could barely keep up with you! THANK YOU. You made me say to myself, "if HE can do this, then I can do this too."

The Beach 2 Beacon is an incredible experience. Everyone has their own unique reason for running. Everyone has a story. And they all inspire me to do better.
