Actress Verna Bloom has died at the age of 80. Her husband of 49 years, screenwriter Jack Cocks, and their son were with her when she passed away on Wednesday, according to USA TODAY. The report says the cause of death is "complications from dementia." Bloom was in Bar Harbor, Maine when she died.

Bloom is best known for her role as the sexy, drunk wife of Faber College's Dean Wormer in the 1978 cult classic movie "Animal House." She also portrayed Jesus' mother in Martin Scorsese's "The Last Temptation of Christ" in 1988, as per USA TODAY.
