Oh, April Fools' Day.

That day where you have to make extra sure the thing you're reading on social media is in fact real and not a joke that fooled you.

Wait. Do you mean Ogunquit’s Marginal Way is NOT getting a moving walkway?

Maine April Fools' Day 2025

From some outrageous new products to a police get-out-jail-free card, there were a number of humorous April Fools' Day jokes in Maine this year.

A variety of businesses and law enforcement agencies got in on the fun, each offering up their own spin on the tricky holiday.

Let's take a look at 14 of them that were posted on social media for April Fools' Day 2025. Did any of them fool you?

Three Rivers Whitewater Rafting Maine

Three Rivers Whitewater Rafting in West Forks, Maine, shared on Facebook an alternative to rafting on the river with inflatable zorb ball tours. You'd be like a giant bubble on the water.

They humorously keep the joke going by getting into details like the minimum age is simply being able to crawl and warning not to bring anything sharp.

It would be kind of fun to do this, though...

Harris Farm

Harris Farm in Dayton, Maine, shared a Facebook post revealing a new corn milk product.

Would you even try this if it was real?

They joke that it is "made with all natural sweet corn extract for that sweet, starchy, corny flavor you love ... sure to get you through until summer corn season."

Shipyard Brewing

Would you be interested in an extra warm beer?

Shipyard Brewing in Portland, Maine, shared on its Facebook page an April Fools' joke revealing that they would be serving up their Summer Ale hot.

About time, right? You can see the post here.

Portland Sea Dogs

The Portland Sea Dogs recently unveiled that they would become the Candlepins for one game in August.

So you might have been surprised to see their April 1 Facebook announcement that they wanted to honor the official state soil of Maine with their new alternate team name, the Maine Chesuncook.

Sure, it's not real, but where can we buy the Maine Chesuncook official gear?

Wells Police

Get-out-of-jail-free cards aren't just for Monopoly.

The Wells Police Department joked on its Facebook page about their limited edition and official "Get Out of Jail Free" gold card for sale.

Getting it for $100? I'd pay.

Clinton Maine Police Department

The Clinton Police Department shared on its Facebook page an update to its body cameras that would live stream to Facebook's Meta Watch.

The police department says to imagine "Cops" meets Bob Ross.

They joke, but people would watch.

Little River Veterinary Hospital

Little River Veterinary Hospital in Northport, Maine, had an April Fools' Day joke on Facebook all about them taking on the big task of baby delivery.

They, of course, suggest payment of garden vegetables, spices, cookies, and homemade furniture.

Thankfully, "All newborns will be microchipped, nails clipped, tick collars applied on both ankles and given a complimentary rabies shot." Sounds extra safe.

Erik's Church

Erik's Church in Windham, Maine, shared on Facebook that it was adding an 8-person hot tub to its restaurant.

The joke notes that birthday suits will not be permitted.

Hopefully you don't run into The Love-ahs from "Saturday Night Live" just chilling in the "a-hot tub."

Sugarloaf Mountain

Sugarloaf Mountain went with a video Facebook post that starts so real you'd think it wasn't a joke.

And then it kicks in with the hilarious reveal that they are renaming things to have that Maine accent. You know, like "Binder" will become "Bindah."

I think we could get behind the change, ayuh.

Auburn (Maine) Police Department

The Auburn Police Department joked on Facebook about branching out from its K-9 program to introduce a feline-based one: a cat action team.

C.A.T. Get it?

Imagine getting chased down by a little cat. Woof. See the Facebook post here.

MaineDOT

Squirrels always seem to be a topic of conversation in Maine, and the state's department of transportation thought it would be a good idea to give them some special bridges.

In a Facebook post, the MaineDOT joked they would have "Squirrel Skywalks installed on every major road throughout the state by the end of 2026."

Watch out for them throwing nuts out onto traffic.

Ogunquit, Maine: Beautiful Place by the Sea

The Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce's April Fools' Day joke decided to get rid of the stress of walking by installing a moving walkway.

It shared on Facebook that the walkway would be at Ogunquit’s Marginal Way this summer.

It'd be like you're at the airport but outside. Oh, to dream.

Congdon's Doughnuts

Congdon's Doughnuts in Wells, Maine, shared a throwback photo as part of April Fools' Day when they accidently misspelled doughnuts.

In a Facebook comment on the post, the donut shop said that in 2016, they printed and purchased 200,000 boxes of "Congdon’s Dougnuts" before they realized the error. Whoops.

Who doesn't want some Dougnuts?

Dunkin'

Dunkin' in 2024 decided to have some fun with April Fool's by "changing" their name from Dunkin' to just Donuts'.

This year? They skipped the joke and decided to offer up free coffee.

And it wasn't actually a trick, either. Not a bad switch up for April Fools' Day, right?

Did you fall for any of these? Which one was your favorite? Looks like we'll have to wait until next year for the next batch of jokes!
