In recent years Freeport has expanded their brewery offerings and now have an event to enjoy not only all Freeport has to offer but their ever-growing craft beer industry too.

Boots and Brews 5k

2022 marks the very first year of this event. Named in honor of Freeport’s rich history of shoemaking and their breweries, Boots and Brews 5k is happening on Sunday, May 15th.

According to the event website, Freeport’s history with shoemaking goes far beyond L.L. Bean and at one time was home to more than 30 shoe and boot factories.

Four breweries will be present with samples for the runners. The breweries are Brickyard Hollow, Gritty’s, Maine Beer Company, and Mast Landing.

The event is $40 to enter and the first 200 participants to sign up will get a special Boots and Brews pint glass. All participants will get a Freeport Swag Bag and of course, those over the age of 21 will receive one free beer at the Finish Line Beer Garden.

There are male and female divisions split up by age and the top 3 male and female finishers will go home with a perfectly Freeport prize, a pair of iconic L.L. Bean boots.
