Brunswick, Maine Barber Goes Viral for Refusing to Refuse Service

The world needs more human beings like Lynn Cressey. Because Lynn just proved that she's a solid human being to her core.

According to Newsweek, the Consumer Price Index reported back in November a 0.1% increase of the average prices of consumer goods and services like food, fuel, heating oil, etc. That was also part of an over 7% increase between November 2021 and November 2022.

And honestly, it's nothing that we didn't already know. The price of gas, while starting to rollercoaster up and down, overall is -- to put it simply -- high as hell. Same with the prices of heating oil and groceries (like eggs, which is the "flavor of the week" most expensive item lately.)

And that's where people like Lynn come in to give some relief where and however she can.

Lynn is the owner of A Little Off the Top Barbershop on Bath Road in Brunswick. And while not guaranteed, Lynn may have lowkey just started a little bit of a revolution amongst local businesses to help stick middle fingers up to inflation while also looking out for her customers and Mainers in general.

"Nobody will be turned away"

Lynn and her barbershop have gone so viral that they were recently nationally featured in Newsweek for helping to pay it forward. More on that in a second.

It hasn't been an easy few years for Lynn, highlighting just exactly how much she's gone through it to Newsweek. Since the pandemic really kicked in 2020, she went through hardships with staying afloat professionally at her single-chair barbershop, as well as personally -- losing both her father and her husband, as well as catching a bit of a rough case of COVID.

Lynn told Newsweek that during all that tragedy and hardship, her customers regularly not only checked in on her, but also helped her pay rent and keep moving forward.

Truly, does anything reek of the heart of Mainers more?

Which is why Lynn is paying it forward to customers in a time when everything is stupid expensive. First off, she hasn't jacked her prices up to stay in line "with the times." In fact, she's taken it a step further, telling the public that "nobody will be turned away" and "I'll work with you."

Like was stated at the start -- the world needs more human beings like Lynn Cressey. She's truly someone who hasn't forgotten where she came from and who has helped her along the way when she needed it most -- something other Mainers, regular customer or complete stranger, are about to say about her.
