There aren't many things that can feel colder than Maine's coldest temperature, but I can still name a few that are.

Coldest temperature ever recorded in Maine

According to WGME, back in January 2009 in Big Black, Maine, the temperature dropped to the coldest point ever recorded in the state at -50 degrees. For reference, Big Black borders Quebec, Canada, so you can only imagine how that windchill might feel.

Speaking of windchills, I bet some of our old relationships can closely relate.

3 things that feel colder than Maine's record temperature

1. The dude or dudette that ghosted you. You just thought of that one person as you read that, be honest.. they suck anyways.

Their heart is probably much colder than just -50 degrees.

2. When the fire in our wood stoves up at camp goes out. This might be worse than a heart break.

Have you ever been 4 hours away from home with no service or running water in -10 degree temperature on a lake because Mainer's just need to be 'upta camp'? Truthfully though it's pretty fun. Cold, but fun.

3. Walking down Wharf St. in Portland after last call. Once all the 20 something year olds get into their Ubers and take their drunk asses home, it looks like a ghost town.

Even in the summer time that feeling can be bone-chilling.
