Crazy! #7 Falmouth Beats #2 Kennebunk in Class A Girls BBall

I have never watched high school basketball...until I had a vested interest in the game.

So, we have a freshman on the girls Falmouth High School varsity basketball team. The Yachtsmen! They just made the playoffs in the quarter finals against a very good team, the Kennebunk Rams...the second best team.

The Falmouth Girls had the lead from the very beginning and never gave it up. It got close, it was a hard fought win and SUPER exciting! It's off to the semi finals on Wednesday.

The games are being played at the Portland Expo and to quote one mom:

This is a big f------ deal!

It was very exciting and we are all so proud of all the girls! Oh and I was pretty proud of the treats I made for the bus ride home. Yes...we made treats...and no, these were not my idea.

First we made basketball pops. These are double stuffed Oreos dipped in orange candy and yes..we drew all those lines (again, melted candy through a friggin' piping bag!) Yes. I see the tragic mishap there...don't worry - I ate that one.

Then we moved to the Nutter basketball and net. These were actually easier because we didn't have to jam a stick into anything that broke every time.

I know...right? Kinda amazing...almost as amazing as the Falmouth girls and their unexpected, but well deserved win against Kennebunk 44 - 35!
