Durham Youth Baseball has no field to play on. They are working hard to change that!

They are a non-profit organization committed to giving kids of Durham a safe and fun chance to learn the game of baseball. They are 100% volunteer run with teams sponsored by local businesses. They even have confidential scholarships as needed.

They work with kids all the way from age 4-12, (t-ball, rookies, minors and majors), so there are a lot of different teams.  Pictured above is this year's All Stars team.  While the local school system allows DYB to use the school softball field when it is not being used for practice or games by the school team, it can be a challenge to coordinate practice/game time for multiple DYB teams.

The group is in the process of planning development of a baseball field complex on Swamp Road in Durham.  They've been ramping up fundraising activities to pay for the project, with the most current being the fundraising golf tournament that will take place September 8th at Toddy Brook Golf Course.

The tournament will be played in four person teams and you can sign up as a single (100.00) or as a team (400.00)  It will be a 9am shotgun start, "best ball scramble" and includes lunch, as well as featuring longest drive, closest to the pin, and awesome raffles items! This is the biggest fundraising project they have attempted so far, - but they are determined as it's such a great cause.
