Feed and Bleed for the Need Tuesday November 26th

The holidays bring challenges to those who need a helping hand - here's a chance for you to do something to help.

On Tuesday, November 26th, from 8 am - 2 pm come donate blood and food! The Salvation Army, the Portland Sea Dogs and the Portland Police Department are all sponsoring this combination food and blood drive!

It's happening at the Holiday Inn by the Bay on 88 Spring Street in Portland!

Don't have a lot of time? Completely understand, save up to 15 minutes by visiting Red Cross Blood Rapid Pass. There you can complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions on the day of your appointment.

According to Neela Lockel, the interim CEO for the Red Cross Maine Region,

Only three out of every 100 people are blood donors, and the holidays put an additional strain on the blood supply as longtime, loyal donors enjoy the holidays and travel to see their loved ones. However, patients don’t get a holiday from needing blood. We encourage all donors, during this season of giving, to make their first gift, the gift of life.
