It's always exciting to see people with ties to your state or region appear on the big screen. For many, including us here in New England, that very thing happened a couple of nights ago when the newest episode of America's Got Talent aired on NBC.

This writer's been a fan of AGT for several years now, and always enjoys tuning in to an episode. The variety of different acts are all entertaining to watch, regardless of whether or not they get four "yeses" from judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofía Vergara, and Simon Cowell. The show's currently in its 17th season, and on Tuesday night's episode that featured some of the auditions, one special choir took the stage for their shot at winning $1M and a headline show in Las Vegas.

Meet the NFL Players Choir.

According to the NFL, the Players Choir first made their debut in 2008 at Super Bowl XLII. Its members are all NFL players from both past and present, including "choir director Demarcus Williams, Tully Banta-Cain, Michael Gaines, Bryant McKenzie, Isaiah McKenzie, Cameron Newton, Steve Pierce, Nick Roach, Bryan Scott, Willie Yarborough and Leonard Weaver."

If you recognize one of these names as belonging to a former New England Patriot, you're correct. Tully Banta-Cain was a linebacker for the Pats from 2003-2006 and 2009-2010, during which he earned two Super Bowl Rings. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers, according to his Twitter.

Anyway, enough of our blabbing, we're sure you want to see how the Choir's audition went. Check out the video below to hear their cover of 'Lean on Me' that brought the crowd- and the judges- to their feet. As host Terry Crews said, it was definitely a "touchdown."

We wish these guys the best of luck as they continue their journey in the competition. You can catch America's Got Talent on Tuesdays at 8pm E.T. on NBC.
