When Is Opening Day for the Portland Sea Dogs in Portland, Maine?
The Portland Sea Dogs' 2026 schedule lists its first game as on the road against the Somerset Patriots in Bridgewater, New Jersey, on Friday, April 3.
But its first home game is 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field. That's the one you'll really want to make sure to attend with the kids.
“We are putting the day back into Opening Day,” Sea Dogs General Manager Jesse Scaglion said in the press release. “Opening Day is a special day, and we want to make sure kids have the ability to attend. With the earlier start, they can come after school and still get a good night’s sleep on a school night. With the free ticket offer for kids, we hope to pack the stadium with kids and families cheering on the Sea Dogs. It’s the perfect way to start a new season.”
