Chef Gordon Ramsay

Food Network chefs aside, there may be no more popular celebrity chef than Gordon Ramsay, who is so successful that not only does he have multiple shows that air on network television, but he also has a massive following on social media.

Known for his countless stitches on TikTok where he reacts to someone cooking a meal (with either hilarious insults or the biggest of hype), and also hilarious videos with his daughter, Tilly, people take notice whenever Gordon posts.

And that's what he was counting on when he posted a video about helmet safety after he was in such a bad accident while biking that he said he's "lucky to be here."

Gordon Ramsay Bike Accident

In a video filmed on what looks to be the set of his Hell's Kitchen restaurant in Connecticut, where multiple seasons of the actual show Hell's Kitchen are being filmed, Gordon delivered an uncharacteristically serious message about wearing a helmet anytime you're on a bicycle, no matter how short or how far your journey will be.

Along with the video message, he also posted a before and after picture -- the before showing him all suited up before his bike ride, and a closeup picture of his cracked helmet and tattered cycling outfit in the aftermath of his accident.

In the caption to the above video, Gordon mentioned that he somehow didn't suffer any broken bones, but is as bruised up as "a purple potato."

I’m thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life.

Because they seem like such larger than life people, it's almost crazy to think that celebrities can suffer the same accidents and ailments that every day people like us can, but Gordon is living (thankfully) proof that accidents can happen to anyone.

Here's to a speedy recovery, and side note -- can we talk about what an absolute badass Chef is to be that banged and bruised up, and still on set filming Hell's Kitchen without showing an ounce of pain?
