Governor Mills today came out with good news about a state partnership with IDEXX. The collaboration means that it will be easier to keep track of where the spread of the virus is in the state and how fast or slow it is going. According to the Portland Press Herald, this deal has been in the works for a few weeks and only received approval from the FDA this morning. Dr. Shah also made the point to say that this will take up to a week to ramp up; however, we are looking at processing 5000 tests per week. When asked about collaborating with the private sector, the Governor replied with “Right now, we welcome good news in any form and in any way it comes to us, This is very good news.”
