So, you have heard about this from your friends that live in larger cities and it appears it's coming to Maine.

According to the Sun Journal, Instacart is collaborating with Hannaford, which means they will deliver groceries for you on the same day.

How does this differentiate from having groceries delivered in other ways?

It is quite simple: Instacart pays shopping professionals to get the brands that you love and others that are requested, and then they will deliver them to your home in less than 24 hours, the newspaper reported.

It is a subscription-based service that costs $99 a year, plus whatever the cost of the groceries is for that particular trip, according to the Sun Journal.

Some of you might already be familiar with Instacart at Hannaford because it was rolled out as a pilot program this past summer. It has clearly taken off as the New England based grocery mega-chain has figured out that this was a significant hit.

This will take the place of Hannaford-to-go, their previous home delivery service as they have worked out the kinks, and decided that this partnership will be beneficial to both companies long-term, according to the Sun Journal.

Are you excited about this app-based shopping program coming to your favorite grocery store? What are you going to look forward to the most about Instacart in your community?
