Maine has hopped on the Covid incentive train! If you've gotten at least one shot of the Covid vaccination, you can register for Maine’s ‘Don’t Miss Your Shot’ sweepstakes. But how will we find out who wins?

WABI TV5 interviewed Dr. Nirav Shah of Maine's CDC. A very common question asked, is how we can find out who will win all that money! Right now more than 257,000 Mainers have registered to win. The winner gets a dollar for every person who has gotten at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines. As of June 26, you could win more than 887,000 dollars! Dr. Shah explained how the winner will be picked:

It’s going to be done electronically. There will be a random number generator process. That’ll be done under pretty tight security for all the obvious reasons. The actual notification of the winner for example that will be done privately. We have to verify after the person has been selected whether they in fact meet all the criteria that we have set forth in the rules and regulations.

We will all find out some time on the 4th of July! It will be made public either in the afternoon or the evening.
