In December of 1999 I went to see my favorite game show of all time The Price is Right and unbeknownst to me, I met the guy who would go on to play Jessie Pinkham on Breaking Bad.  That's me in the checkered green shirt on the left of the picture and that's Aaron Paul on the right about to bid on a desk.

I've been a fan of The Price is Right ever since I can remember. As a kid I had every home version of the game and would make all the kids on my street come over to play on my porch while I played Bob Barker

It wasn't until 1999 when I finally flew to Los Angeles to see a taping of The Price is Right, something I had wanted to do all those years. I was such a Price geek that I ran a website that recapped every epidode of the show the day it aired. That site eventually morphed into the biggest Price is Right fan site, Golden-Road.net named after one of the shows pricing games.

It was because of that site that I met a guy by the name of Marc Green who happened to be going to the show for the same taping I was. When I moved to mornings on the Q, Marc took over the duties of running the website and turned it into that premiere fan site that it is today.

Marc knew the producer of the show and was able to get us backstage to meet Bob Barker and front row seats in the audience! It was an amazing experience. What neither of us knew at the time was a guy that we met out in the CBS store was a then unknown Aaron Paul.

We saw him buying all kinds of stuff at the store and plastering it on his clothing. A CBS bumper sticker and a Bob Barker postcard just to name a few. I remember asking him why he was doing that and he said something along the lines of it was to get the producers attention. The producers of the show go through the line of people interviewing each one to pick the nine that will be told to "Come on down!"

It worked. Aaron was the second contestant called. He was called as Aaron Sturtevant, his real last name. Paul is his middle name.

He bid on a desk and then got to play for a car! Watch to see how it turned out, and look for me right behind him in the first row in the green checkered shirt.
