It only happens about once every 20 years...a full moon on a Friday the 13th!

According to NewsCenter Maine, the full moon in September is called the Harvest Moon because it's the moon closest to the start of fall.

Now, truth be told, the moon won't be actually full until around 12:30 am on September 14th, but don't tell your werewolf friend. It will look completely full on the 13th. And also, it's full for the rest of the country before it's full for us!

According to the Farmers' Almanac having a full moon on a Friday the 13th is rare! It hasn't happened nationwide since October of 2000 and it won't happen again until August of 2049!

But take that full moon on Friday the 13th and add extra specialness. This is also a micro moon because it's happening near the moon's apogee - that's when the moon is farthest from the earth! Either way - it's gonna be a wacky Friday!
