Is Katy Perry Moving to Maine?

Website MBYNews.com is claiming that pop superstar Katy Perry has just had enough of LA, and is moving to Portland!

In an undated web post, the website shared a statement supposedly attributed to her publicist that indicates Perry is moving to Vacationland. We can't find a second source for this information, and we're not sure how legitimate this website is. We're also not sure if she might just buy a vacation home here in Maine, and live elsewhere for the rest of the year.

Here's the bulk of the statement from the website:

Katy said that she was “tired of the LA lifestyle” and wanted to “live in a place where people are just people and whose sincerity you don’t have to always question”.  She recently visited Portland for a few days on business and, according to her assistant, “Katy drove through Portland and immediately fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle, the people, and the beautiful scenery of Maine and was telling everyone that she was going to move there.”

“I love Portland!  And this feels like the place I need to be at this time in my life,” Katy told the magazine.  “I’m not giving up on my career.  I just want to move to a place that feels so different than what I’ve been used to for so long and I think Maine is where I want to be.”

Even if it doesn't turn out to be real... plenty of people from Maine are already commenting on the story and welcoming Katy to Maine!
