There's something about throwing a line into a body of water and hoping to feel a little tug on the fishing pole as you reel in your lure. Even if you didn't catch anything on that cast, you still have all day to do nothing but fish and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature. A good day fishing can build memories that will last forever.

The 33rd annual Kids Fishing Derby is happening next Saturday, May 4th from 9am to 1pm at Bayley's Camping Resort in Scarborough. The derby is open to all kids age 4 to 15 as long as the are accompanied by an adult. There will be prizes awarded for different age categories, food will be available to purchase, and the Kiwanis Club will be handing out free T-shirts until they're gone. It's a great way to get the kids into fishing and show them a hobby that can last a lifetime.

This is a BYOP (Bring Your Own Pole) event, live bait (worms) will be available. Rain date is May 11th.
