New Maine Dessert Shop Combining Warm Cookies and Ice Cream Is Coming to Augusta
Big news for downtown Augusta: SMUSH Cookie Creamery is officially opening in early June in the former home of Lisa’s Legit Burrito.
The idea behind SMUSH has been years in the making. The shop will specialize in warm, fresh-baked cookies stuffed with premium local hard-serve ice cream, creating the perfect mix of hot and cold in every bite. But the menu goes far beyond cookie sandwiches.
Customers can expect classic milkshakes as well as loaded creations piled high with frosted rims, extra ice cream, cookies, and outrageous toppings. A dessert case will feature cheesecake slices, cupcakes, whoopie pies, candy apples, fresh cookies, and other sweet treats to enjoy on-site or take home. SMUSH will also serve warm waffle sundaes, coffee, milk, slushies, and nostalgic glass-bottle sodas like IBC Root Beer and Jones Soda.

The shop is owned by Devan Lemar, founder of Two Maine Guys. Inspired by a memorable visit to an ice cream shop in Berkeley more than 20 years ago, Lemar is finally bringing his own version of that experience to Augusta. SMUSH promises warm cookies, cold ice cream, loaded shakes, and big vibes.
