Three High Schools in Maine Named Best in State
We can all agree that getting a proper education is important, but in our Pine Tree State, not all educations seem to be created equal.
In Maine, everyone agrees that is essential, whether you're a child, a parent, or someone without kids. However, not all schools offer the same quality of education.
We've talked about how some schools are more expensive than others, but does paying more guarantee a better education?
The publication ‘alot’ put together a list called 'The Most Expensive High School in Each State,' focusing on tuition costs for the 2023-2024 school year. They found that Kents Hill School has the highest tuition in Maine, costing $63,250 a year. However, just because a school is expensive doesn't always mean it's the top choice for everyone.
How does one ever determine which high schools are the ‘best’ in the state?
Each year, U.S. News and World Report ranks public high schools across the country, this year, nearly 25,000 including 103 in Maine that were ranked. U.S. News and World Report evaluates schools based on various factors, such as student performance in core subjects, career and education development, and world languages.
The top three Maine high schools are selected from these rankings.
