Great news coming out of Bangor next month!

The buzz is all about the creatures most of us have only heard of in stories.

The International Cryptozoology Museum is almost finished moving from it’s longtime spot in Portland and is now planning to officially open their doors at the newest location on 490 Broadway in Bangor, according to Bangor Daily News

When is the opening? Right around the corner, happening on April 1st, 2026, according to Bangor Daily News.

If you’ve ever been serious about Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or even the Yeti, this is your spot.

The reason for the move is because they wanted a larger and more permanent space, as per Bangor Daily.

As per the article, this museum was created in 2003 by cryptozoologist Loren Coleman and spent more than two decades in Portland before the plans were made to relocate the growing collection to Bangor.

Bizarre study of animals that haven’t been totally proven to exist by science, is exactly what this place is about.

Cryptozoology is often referred to as “cryptids” and the museum has built a pretty rad reputation for calling all creature overs over to witness these legends with a mix of science and history.

You will come upon displays with super unusual artifacts, models, photos, and even footprint casts. The items are connected to stories and sightings from around the world.

So it’s like part museum, part curiosity cabinet. If you like to deep dive into mysteries that have fascinated us all for generations, then you must check it out!
