Maine gets its fair share of celebrities during the summer. Most are easy to recognize. However, there was a celebrity visitor in Portland's Old Port that you might not have even recognized unless you are a big fan.

The Highroller Lobster Co.

Located at 104 Exchange Street in Portland, The Highroller Lobster Co. is just a short walk from our Portland studios. Andrew Shaykin works there and is a good friend of mine since we often play pinball in tournaments at Arcadia on Congress Street. He and his wife Katelyn, are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Andrew is also a SpongeBob SquarePants fan. Are you ready, kids? Cue the music.

Above is a photo of Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob SqaurePants, who just so happened to be enjoying some local seafood at The Highroller Lobster Co. on the afternoon of June 7.

Here's what Andrew told me about the experience of meeting the legend behind the voice.

I was so stoked and he’s the friendliest guy ever. Was beyond excited a bunch of the staff were fans. Obviously a bunch of us grew up with him on our TVs! Wicked humble dude.

Normally when a celeb comes in, I’ll just say "hey" but he was very happy to take pics and how do you not ask for a picture with SpongeBob?!?

You've got a love it when a celebrity is very generous to his fans. As Andrew said, most of them grew up on SpongeBob on Nickelodeon, and it's been airing since 1999! That's some big-time job security for Tom Kenny.
