Maine Mall in South Portland Changing Hours For Holiday Shopping

With Halloween behind, the race to the Christmas season has begun for retailers across the country. Christmas lists are being made and the holiday shopping rush has already begun for many.

This year, that holiday shopping season is a bit of crunch of retailers nationwide. Thanksgiving rolls in "late" on the November calendar, leaving retailers and shoppers with only 27 possible days before Christmas is front and center.

Which is why the Maine Mall in South Portland has announced a change that should help shoppers take their time and will also help retailers maximize their possible sales. The Maine Mall plans to extend their hours of operation for most of December.

Currently. the Maine Mall is typically open from 10am until 7pm on most days. During their extended hour season, there will be days the mall opens earlier (including Black Friday) as well as closes two full hours later (9pm).

• Sunday, Dec 8: 11am until 7pm

• Tuesday, Dec 10: 10am until 9pm
• Wednesday, Dec 11: 10am until 9pm
• Thursday, Dec 12: 10am until 9pm
• Friday, Dec 13: 10am until 9pm
• Saturday, Dec 14: 10am until 9pm
• Sunday, Dec 15: 11am until 7pm
• Monday, Dec 16: 10am until 9pm
• Tuesday, Dec 17: 10am until 9pm
• Wednesday, Dec 18: 10am until 9pm
• Thursday, Dec 19: 10am until 9pm
• Friday, Dec 20: 10am until 9pm
• Saturday, Dec 21:10am until 9pm
• Sunday, Dec 22: 11am until 7pm

As the Maine Mall notes on their website, these are special hours and not a permanent return to the extended hours the mall maintained a few years ago, despite shoppers asking for regular extended hours.
