It's a tourism gem nestled amongst trees in Kennebunkport, Maine. But as it keeps being featured on more and more lists among the best, foodies in Maine will keep slowly trickling in to see what all the fanfare is about.

Fore Street - Portland

The only restaurant from Portland featured on OpenTable's list is one of a handful that started the culinary movement in the city.

Among the three restaurants on the list featured from Maine, Franny's Bistro in Camden is perhaps the most understated.

From the outside, Franny's looks like a typical mom-and-pop joint you'd find across the state. But the food this small restaurant serves has people falling all over themselves.

In fact, with more than 1,400 reviews on OpenTable, Franny's has a near-perfect rating. That's a rarity in a world where so many people like to complain about the smallest things. If you get to visit, don't sleep on the duck confit or the shrimp linguine, two favorites among visitors.
