South Berwick, Maine, Chef Competing on Show with Martha Stewart
Lee Frank, the brains behind Lee Frank's restaurants in South Berwick, Wells and soon-to-be Exeter, NH is now competing in NBC's cooking competition show called "Yes, Chef!"
He also owns Otis in Exeter, New Hampshire.
If you aren't familiar with Lee Frank's, Lee grew up on the West Coast, and he wanted to pay homage to his SoCal roots by opening a classic burger joint here in Northern New England.
People who know and love In-N-Out style burgers say that Lee Frank's totally understands the assignment.
But can you order your burgers "Animal Style"? That's what I would like to know. You can apparently "make it dirty" whatever that means...
If you've never watched "Yes, Chef!" the premise is described as:
"Talented yet hotheaded chefs compete in a series of culinary challenges that will test not only their cooking skills, but also their ability to improve their attitudes -- all in pursuit of a cash prize."
Contestants are typically nominated by a friend, family member or co worker.
This is the maiden voyage for this show but it sounds like it has an interesting concept. And with judges like Jose Andres and the queen herself, Martha Stewart, it won't be lacking in the personality department.
Lee is competing alongside 11 other "diva chefs".

He is literally the only one smiling among a sea of mean mugs and we absolutely love him for it. (he's the second to the right in the fun white glasses)
Episodes air on Mondays at 10pm or they are available for streaming on Peacock.
Good luck, Chef Lee Frank! Make New England proud!
