Justin Bieber revealed to fans on Twitter today, Sept. 24, that he may need surgery as a result of injuring his ear drum while cliff diving.

The 20-year-old pop star wrote in one tweet, "Busted my ear drum cliff diving. Doc says might need surgery now. Sucks."

He continued, "My ear drum might back us up a little but I'm still bringing you this new music. Much love. Damn u cliff diving!"

Bieber didn't reveal when or where he was when the accident happened. Ear drum ruptures have been known to happen during cliff diving due to the sudden change of pressure that occurs when one jumps into water from a certain height.

Earlier this month, Cody Simpson confirmed that he and Bieber were working on a still-untitled duets album after months of Instagram photos featuring the two working in a studio together.

“Justin has been a good mate of mine for a while," Simpson revealed in an interview with The Daily Telegraph. "Its just us writing. He told me he felt like I’d figured myself out and have grown into what he knows I will be so he was like, ‘I see you as that guitarist, singer songwriter you’ve always wanted to be.' I play all the guitars on the album.”

We can't imagine it being easy to work on new music while not having full use of one's ears. So we hope for the sake of millions of eager Beliebers awaiting new music that Justin gets better soon.
