Lightsabers, Superheroes, and More: Kids Con New England Lands in Maine!

Mark your calendar if you have kids or are a kid at heart. Kids Con New England is coming to the Doubletree Hotel in South Portland on November 9.

Kids Con New England is the largest comic con for kids. As they say on their website, it was created to inspire creativity and learning through family-friendly comics, children’s books, art, workshops, gaming, and fun activities.

Princesses, superheroes, Star Wars characters, and many other surprises will be there, including lightsaber training. The Star Wars geek in me is wishing Kid Con was around when I was a kid.

If you want to see the coolest Batman you've ever seen, The Old Port Batman and Batgirl will be there. Batman is played by Mainer Keith Dinsmore who holds the Guinness World Record for having the most functional gadgets based on the character's creations. His suit even has the comic book white eyes that haven't even been attempted in any of the live-action Batman TV shows or movies.

There's a whole to see and do for kids and parents alike and it all takes place on Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in South Portland. You know. The round hotels you can see from the Maine Turnpike.

Tickets are on sale now. You can purchase tickets at the door, but Kids Con recommends ordering them on their website, kidsconne.com. Kids under 5 are free.

Would it be wrong if an adult like me goes to this just to see Batman?
