Lights of Hope Event Honors Those Touched by Cancer on Capitol Steps
When Diane Aston of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) reached out to let us know about their annual event in Washington DC honoring those who have been touched by cancer, we knew we had to spread the word far and wide.
Every September, Lights Of Hope honors fighters and survivors of cancer by placing lights bags on the Capitol steps in ceremonial tribute. For a $10 donation, each contributor receives a Lights Of Hope bag that he or she can decorate in honor or memory of someone they love. Each bag is filled with a light and placed in a design on the Capitol steps, together forming a breathtaking spectacle. Donors will also receive membership to ACS CAN.
