Magical Northern Lights Return to the Heart of Freeport, Maine

The Northern Lights return to L.L.Bean in Freeport, Maine for the 18th year.

It all kicks off this Friday, November 22 with a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 645 pm. You'll get to see Julia Gagnon (Maine's American Idol finalist) and the fun band The Fogcutters!

How long will LL Bean's Northern Lights celebration last?

The transformation of Discovery Park at LL Bean's flagship store in Freeport, Maine goes through December 29. After the tree lighting on Friday, it's Home for the Holidays at the L.L.Bean Home Store on Saturday with food samples, demos, and hands-on crafts.

Everything is free at the Northern Lights celebration at LL Bean in Freeport, Maine

It's Bean's way of spreading holiday cheer! Come see Santa, sit on a heated bench and stare at the lights, or learn about cultural traditions from around the world! They've even added puppies with Santa’s North Pole Puppies. It's a partnership with Midcoast Humane in Brunswick, where you can visit and pet puppies up for adoption.

Is construction still happening at LL Bean's Flagship store in Freeport, Maine?

Yup! Don't worry, if you plan your visit you can still find plenty of parking at the Freeport Village Station across the street. The construction is not stopping or even putting a damper on the fun Nothern Lights. It's really pretty incredible what LL Bean does to make it such a fun time. It's hard to be in a bad mood when you visit the Northern Lights.

Oh and don't forget to bring your letter for Santa! LL Bean will make sure the jolly ol' fellow gets them.
