Love Hot Chicken? Dave’s Hot Chicken Opens 2nd Location in Massachusetts

Good news for you if you love hot chicken!  The scrappy little chicken shack that started on the West Coast has finally decided to bring its delectable chicken to the East.

Dave's Hot Chicken is taking the East by storm.

Think about it. We've had fried chicken stores come and go. Even the South's Krispy Kreme Donuts tried to muscle into the Northeast, but moved out because they couldn't compete with our obsession with Canton, MA-based Dunkin'.

Why is Dave's Hot Chicken different that all of the other chicken franchises that have come and gone?  Hot Chicken is what they focus on and do best, so it's the star of the menu.

In fact, it's the only item on the menu besides sides and drinks.  They do one thing, and do it best.

Dave's Hot Chicken opened their first franchise in Massachusetts in Newton, and is opening  another franchise in Woburn, MA on July 29th.  They're getting closer to New Hampshire.

In New York City, Dave's Hot Chicken is set to explode with 20 new "units," according to WhatNowNY.com. All this talk of food is making me hungry, so let's have a look at the menu.

There are chicken tenders with fries, tender sliders with kale slaw & fries, or one tender and one slider with...yup...kale slaw & fries. You can pick your special Dave's sauce by heat, from no spice to the "reaper".

The sauce may be the secret.

Now look at the sides. In addition to regular fries and kale slaw, they have cheese fries.  They had me at cheese.  Cheese fries are arguably one of the greatest comfort foods ever.  They have milkshakes, soda, water, and bottled drinks.

That is the entire menu.

According to their website, Dave's Hot Chicken was started by four friends who had $900 and found a tiny stand in a parking lot in East Hollywood, CA.  They wanted to make the best recipe for hot chicken.

A year later they had enough money to open a store in a strip mall, and lines formed down the sidewalk.  Social media helped them grow to over 30 locations on the West Coast, Texas, the Midwest, and Canada.

Now they plan to conquer the Northeast.
