Maine CDC Reports Over 100 New COVID-19
According to the the Maine CDC's Friday update, the cumulative number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Maine is now at 6,467, an increase of 103 since Thursday and the highest number of daily COVID-19 ever reported by the Maine CDC. 5,829 of those cases are confirmed while 741 are deemed probable.
Over the past six days, the Maine CDC has reported 433 new cases of COVID-19 with Maine's positivity rate increasing from 0.42% two weeks ago, to 0.8% percent today.
There were no new deaths reported of an individual with COVID-19 for the 14th day in a row, keeping the total at 146. 486 patients have had to be hospitalized at some point. 17 are currently hospitalized with 5 in intensive care and 1 on a ventilator.
5,495 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have recovered, an increase of 33 since Thursday. The total number of diagnosed active cases of COVID-19 is 929, an increase of 70 and the highest number of active cases in Maine since the pandemic began.
Governor Mills has extended the State of Emergency in Maine through November 27, allowing Maine to continue to receive federal funding and use available resources to respond to COVID-19.
An executive order remains in place requiring large retail stores, lodging, restaurants, outdoor bars and tasting rooms to enforce the state's face covering requirement.
