Maine Incentivizing Vaccinations With Free Stuff
Vaccines in Maine
We've turned a corner here in Maine when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines. As of May 10th, 1,251,064 doses of the vaccine, either Moderna, Phizer, or Johnson and Johnson, have been administered. 593,909 have received their final dose.
After an initial rush to schedule vaccine appointments, many sites are now welcoming walk-ins to get vaccinated.
Your Shot to Get Outdoors
As the state is working to get more residents vaccinated, Governor Mills announced a new "Your Shot to Get Outdoors" initiative.
What's the Incentive?
In hopes to get Maine thriving again and get people outdoors, Maine adults who get their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson between today and the end of May will qualify for one Maine-centric reward according to WMTW.
Included in the offer is a free fishing or hunting license for those interested. The state will purchase up to 5,000 of each for the 2021 season. For those looking for family fun, you could get a Maine Wildlife Park or Maine state park day pass. The Maine Wildlife Park pass will allow for admission for up to two people. 5,000 of each pass will be purchased. Those who enjoy shopping could get one of 10,000 a $20 L.L. Bean gift card. And finally, those looking for some fun and entertainment could get one of 5,000 tickets to a Sea Dogs game or one of 5,000 passes to Oxford Plains Speedway.
How Do I Claim My Reward?
These incentives are only available to adults getting their first vaccine (or the Johnson & Johnson single dose) today through May 31st. Submit your information here or call 1-888-445-4111.
