March is like the red-headed step child of Maine seasons. It's no longer the brunt of winter but it's also not even close to summer yet. March isn't' even really considered spring, it's just ..here, so what is there to do?

When is spring in Maine 2025?

Okay, fine, technically Spring in Maine this year is March 20th- June 20th. To be fair, it's still starting at the end of March which makes my above statement feel more confirmed.

Maine Spring activities in March

Firstly, Maine has its' own Fat Tuesday celebrations and it's happening March 4th which opens up most of downtown to parades, fun bar games and activities. Everybody is invited to anything happening downtown and it's just one big hilarious street party.

Maine Restaurant Week 2025

The tradition of trying all of Maine's different types of food carries on to another year! It's like a bar crawl but for foodies.

All types of local restaurants downtown serve special dishes and cocktails and your in-person tour guide will take you to try each one.

St. Patrick's Day 2025

This is where Ri Ra downtown Portland thrives. They're the only true, authentic Irish pub left in the city and they know it.

They always have bag pipe performers, green beer, and enough foot traffic to find your next husband.

This holiday is also where Portland misses good old Brian Boru that shut its' doors in 2019.
