The Maine Primary is just a month away, and you know what they need? Poll workers!

The people who make sure your already tense process of in-person voting is organized and "pleasant.'

However, this year's need is different as you know most poll workers are in the demographic most likely to be affected by COVID 19 (which has not gone away btw) and will sit this election cycle out.

Secretary of State Matt Dunlap told News Center Maine

"We'll probably need some more poll workers [this primary], especially to fill in for some vulnerable folks who it would probably be better if they don't work at the polls on that particular day."

He then went on to say...

"People who volunteer as poll workers do it again and again and again. It's a very fulfilling way to support your community."

Contact your city clerk if you are interested in working the poll, they are looking for people from all backgrounds and political affiliations.
