These 10 New Hampshire Cities Have the Best Downtowns

Living in New England, we know that we're pretty lucky and blessed to reside in one of the best parts of the US.

Over the years, countless studies and statistics have directed high praise towards our region. Most recently, a new WalletHub study announced the best small cities in the country for 2022, and eight New England towns made the list. Locals have also shared their opinions on living in the Granite State, including their thoughts on the best towns in New Hampshire (spoiler alert: the winner was not what this writer expected).

But let's zoom in a little more. What communities in New Hampshire have the best downtowns? For this writer, a charming downtown is a walkable, clean place filled with history, character, scenery, and plenty of local shopping and dining options.

The definition of the perfect downtown is understandably subjective, and differs for everyone. You might currently live in the same town that you grew up in, and therefore have a soft spot for your home turf. Maybe your dream downtown is in a big city, or has a certain number of restaurants, entertainment options, etc. On the flip side of that, you may not care about your community's downtown at all, as long as you're in close proximity to an alternate spot you prefer visiting instead. Regardless, we decided to take to Facebook to ask for your thoughts, and received lots of suggestions.
