Maine Senator Writes Kids Book About Government
Ever wanted your kids to know how an idea becomes a law in Maine?
Wonder no more, because Senator Justin Chenette, a Democrat from Saco, has a new book out called, 'The Great Whoopie Pie Debate: How Your Idea Becomes Maine Law'.
It's a 32-page coloring book that shows you how a law is made from start to finish with a real-life illustration of when Maine legislators debated the state dessert.
Is your kid interested in politics? Seems like kids are way more aware of what's going on than we were. The book includes an educational activity section to solve puzzles, crosswords, and fill-in-the-blanks, along with fun facts about the good ol' Pine Tree State.
Justin was looking for a way for kids to really understand how government works in a fun and interactive way to connect the dry lessons of school.
This is Justin's first book. All the proceeds from the book will benefit college scholarships for local high school students.
