First, it was Dysart’s Shaun Yazbek, then Duckfat’s Rob Evans (twice, he won the first time) and Christian Hayes of Dandelion Catering Co. who also won.

Now, former Portland chef Jason Daly will join the club when he competes on the Food Network show “Chopped” on May 29th at 9pm EST.

According to Press Herald, Daly was the executive chef at Crooners & Cocktails and he also worked a stint on Vinalhaven Island at Salt Restaurant. He has since migrated south and is now at Warehouse Bar and Kitchen in Charleston, South Carolina, (a sister city to Portland in its foodie heaven status, in my opinion).

Though he no longer lives among us, Daly still showcases Maine seafood and produce in his 'Chopped' episode, which is titled "Surf and Turf". Between an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, Daly will have to prove his chops in the kitchen by integrating a basket of mystery ingredients with "some expensive and obscure proteins from both land and sea,” reports Press Herald.

Here's hoping Daly returns to Charleston a richer man, as the last chef standing goes home with $10,000. Bon courage and bon appétit, chef!
