Mainer's are constantly impressing me with the kindness and selfless love they are sharing with others in need.

This is the case for Catherine Campbell of Clinton, Maine. According to an article by News Center Maine, Catherine needs a new kidney. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at a young age and because of that she has faced many medical issues and now needs a kidney.

As the articles states,

"According to the National Kidney Foundation, more than 100,000 people in the United States are awaiting a kidney transplant."

Catherine is an extremely positive and hopeful person as the article states and she wasn't aware where this journey would lead.

The answer to all of her problems as been found to be much closer to home.

When Catherine found out she needed a kidney she shared the sad news with friends and neighbors.

According to News Center Maine, Catherine's neighbor, Jess Begin, after hearing the news, she felt obligated to get tested to see if she was a match for her neighbor.

What came next was nothing short of a miracle. When you stay hopeful and never give up, the universe will answer your prayers. This is what happened to Catherine.

The article goes on to say, after a year of searching for a new kidney. Catherine got a call saying that perfect match for a new kidney was literally right next door. Catherine found her miracle.

This is absolutely unbelievable. What are the odds that Catherine's neighbor and close friend of 14 years would also be her savior?

Catherine said,

"After she told me, I said you're not just my neighbor and my friend anymore, and now you're going to be my sister,"

They are both now getting ready for the big surgery as to where one of Jess Begins kidneys will be removed from her and given to Catherine, to save her life.

This will happen on March 15 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, according to the article.

Catherine says,

"I cannot wait to know what it feels like to feel good again,"

Her neighbor says,

"Catherine has a lot of people in her life that absolutely love her, and I just feel like it's just allowing them to have more of her."
