The Fourth Marshalls Store in Maine is Set to Open November 14
There are three Marshalls stores in Maine: Scarborough, Windham, and Bangor. A fourth is nearly ready to open bringing Marshalls to a new community in Maine.
Marshalls is an off-price department store. What's an off-price department store? I wondered too. According to Wikipedia, off-price is a fancy way of saying "discount department store." Marshalls is owned by TJX Companies which operates TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, HomeSense, and Sierra in the United States and a few other brands in other countries.
The newest Marshalls in Maine is set to open in the Hannaford Plaza in Farmington on November 14. I haven't been to Farmington in some time so I haven't seen any construction, but looking at this Google Maps photo, the only place it can go is in the former Olympia Sports store which went completely out of business in 2023. You can still see the shadow of the sign on the building in this photo.
Marshalls sells clothing, beauty products, home goods, kids products, pet supplies, and many other products at discount prices and people love this store for its quality items that are easier on the pocketbook.
According to WTMW, Marshalls will be donating $10,000 to Western Maine Community Action to celebrate the grand opening. Western Maine Community Action helps assist people who are struggling to pay for home heating fuel to help them stay warm during the winter. There's a long list of other things that Western Maine Community Action does for the area and the donation from Marshalls will be a welcome one.
