HomeGoods Set to Open New Store in Biddeford, Maine, This Fall
As Biddeford continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in Maine, that growth is attracting more than just youthful residents looking to escape Portland prices and a few more tourism dollars. It's also attracting new restaurants and retail to the area. According to the Saco Bay News, HomeGoods, one of the fastest-growing retail chains in America, is planning to expand and open a new store in Biddeford later this year.
HomeGoods currently has two other locations in Maine. The Rockland, Bangor, and Scarborough stores have been extremely successful, so it makes sense that the company would continue expansion within the state. It appears HomeGoods will open their new Biddeford store in the same plaza on Mariner Way that houses Target and TJ Maxx.
Similar to its parent company TJ Maxx, HomeGoods has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to its name brand offerings at discounted prices. HomeGoods operates like a scaled down department store, featuring everything from home decor to kitchen and bath items. In most towns and cities where HomeGoods operates, it's either attached to another store under the TJ Maxx umbrella, like Marshall's or Sierra.
HomeGoods expects to have their new Biddeford store open by sometime this fall. The company is currently searching for positions to be filled at the new location.
