RAIN DELAY UPDATE: Easter Egg Hunt for Portland Kids Only With 8,000 Eggs to Find
Portland is throwing its very first Easter egg hunt and of course, it's going to pour!
Portland has moved the date of its very first Easter egg hunt from April 1st (great April Fool's joke Mother Nature) to one week later, April 8. If you have a little one 10 years old and under and live in Portland, you must register them before Saturday, April 8. Only the first 400 slots are available and they're filling up fast! Families are encouraged to come and support the little egg hunters and have fun but keep the doggy at home. The event lasts from 10 am to 12 pm with the egg hunt around 10:15!
There will be parking within the park but the access road Arboretum Road will be closed from 10 am to noon. You are encouraged to get there a little early since the egg hunt will happen at 10:15. Kids have to be checked in first and given their tote bags to gather up the eggs. You can recycle the egg, but anything inside is all yours!
You can take your picture with Portland's very own Bubba the Bunny! Each little one will be able to gather 20 Eggs. There will be golden eggs that will be hidden. If you find a golden egg, turn it in for a bigger prize! But there's more. Face Painting, Side Walk Chalk Area, Potato Sack Racing with "Tater" and more.
Registration is free, but required - so hop to it. And it is again for Portland residents only. So, if your nephew is in Portland and doing this and you live in Lewiston...please still come and root them on! But the egg hunt is only for Portland kiddos. Lori Voornas from Q97.9 will be there to play music and have fun with everyone!
