Moe’s Original BBQ is Leaving South Portland, Maine and Opening in Scaroborough

Moe's Original Bar Que has been feeding us the best food for ten years in South Portland, but they are picking up and moving.

If you've never been to Moe's, you are denying yourself some super delicious homestyle Alabama barbeque. The best part about Moe's is that it's a small chain restaurant started in the South, but Mainers make this southern staple all about the community. After 10 years as South Portland as its home, they are moving to Scarborough.

Scarborough, Maine will be the new home for Moe's Original BBQ

They are moving into the old Great East Butcher Co. on Payne Road. Kind of fitting that a BBQ joint is moving into an old butcher building. When Dewey Hasbrouck, the owner, first opened in Maine, he said in a press release,

I am really excited to bring Moe’s Original style of BBQ to South Portland where we realize the bar is set high. Our consistent great food, Southern hospitality, speed of service, and lower price point will add a slightly different dining out experience to the existing food market.

When will the new Moe's Original BBQ opening be in Scarborough, Maine?

Imagine moving. It's a giant pain in the butt, and it's a puzzle. Putting all the pieces together. Dewey is excited about the new location and told me,

We are unsure of our exact opening date yet but should be within the first week or two of December. We will be moving over there and shutting down the South Portland store (but it’s only a couple minutes away and in a more easily accessible location!)

I'm very excited for Dewey and everyone at Moe's about their move. We'll be in Scarborough for those insanely good sides and that Alabama BBQ that keeps us coming back!
