On June 10th, Emily will be hosting a horse show at the Pittston Fair Grounds. It's not just a horse show, but also her senior project (yes...she is early). But it's also her chance to give back. She is raising money for the Travis Mills Foundation.

Travis Mills is an amazing man.

On April 10, 2012, United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne was critically injured on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan by an IED (improvised explosive device) while on patrol, losing portions of both legs and both arms. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive his injuries.

He started to Travis Mills Foundation to help other wounded veterans.

Emily wants to help every veteran that has served and goes to Travis’s retreat.

Emily's show is called, ‘Horses For Armed Forces’. It is a multi class horse show to include everybody. Western and English equitation and pleasure classes from younger ages and up. In the afternoon there will be gaming classes for the horse and rider teams. They are planning barrel racing, pole bending, egg on a spoon, ride a buck, flag race, and quadrangle. Most of the gaming classes are timed events. During our lunch break we have Frenchman’s BBQ catering! They are also doing breakfast and coffee!

Emily is completely committed to helping people and can't think of a better way then to combine her two loves : veterans and Horses.

Her goal is to raise at least $1200!

The horse show will be at the Pittston Fairgrounds in Pittston Maine and will start at 8:30 am.
Donations will be excepted in the show booth all day long!
