The Annual Marshmallow Fluff Festival is Coming to Somerville, Massachusetts

Maine celebrates the official state soft drink, Moxie, every year with the Moxie Festival in Lisbon. Not to be outdone, a festival happens annually in Somerville, Massachusettes celebrating Marshmallow Fluff and it's coming in September.

Marshmallow Fluff has been made in Lynn, Massachusetts by the same family for over 100 years and the residents of the state celebrate every year with their annual "Fluff Festival"

Like the Moxie Festival, big crowds turn out for the Fluff Festival. The festival website answers the question "What the Fluff?" saying it's a "tribute to Union Square Innovation is a madcap festival honoring the invention of Marshmallow Fluff. It celebrates Somerville’s proud tradition of innovation with live music, fluffalicious feasts, sticky games, zany happenings, and much more."

They get a little crazy over Fluff and for good reason. Who doesn't love a fluffernutter sandwich? The crazy part is all the fun Fluff games that they play, including a marshmallow toss, Fluff jousting, Fluff on the nose, Fluff musical chairs, and Fluff limbo.

There'll also be food, much of it made with Fluff, music, games, and what looks like a heck of a lot of celebrating the delicious confection that New Englanders love.

What to go and show your love for the Fluff? The 19th Annual Fluff Festival happens in Union Square in Somerville, Massachusettes on Saturday, September 21 with a rain date of September 22.
